I Need It! | Repurchases

A few weeks ago I entered Boots for a reason. That reason was a couple of items which had recently been discarded into the bin and there has been a void in my bathroom waiting to be filled with their replacements. Because the void was so big I felt that I could only replace the items with themselves.

I love trying out new things but with skin care I am a little careful with how often I switch it up because my skin, although fairly low maintenance, knows what it likes. These are often the things I repurchase, but it is for a very good reason - it's simple.

I was using the dregs of my Garnier Miscellar water, which I don't use every day but it's great for a lazy removal. I have tried others but I really do think this is the best value for money because of the size and it's pretty good. It is a little drying on my eyes sometimes but once I've finished my skincare 'routine' (I use that word pretty lightly) it's no longer a problem. It's pretty quick and easy - something I really appreciate in a skincare product!

My friend has been really loving Barry M's Hi-Shine in Lychee and I really love this formula. I had this colour a while back but it's mysteriously disappeared. I really wanted it for a wedding I have coming up. It's a beautiful creamy-nude which isn't too manakin-like on me, nor too pastel. A winner that I could no longer live without.

Moisturizer is something I find quite tricky. I like to have one with SPF and one without and my one without had come to an end. It was included in my gift bag at the release of La Roche Posay's Serozinc back in December and although I did find it a little greasy at first, I quickly fell head over heals for it. It is quite thick but my skin loves the moisture it gives and it is really soothing. I can  imagine this to be great on sunburn but I haven't yet tested this out. It quenches dry patches and doesn't break me out. It will definitely have a place in my skincare collection for a while to come and now it's easily available in the UK.

Finally is the Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub from Neutrogena. I do love my cleanser from Kiehl's and Liz Earle and using my Micellar water but sometimes I need something to gently buff off the layer of dirt which sometimes a cleanser doesn't quite do. It may be residue from products, but I find this leaves my skin so smooth and gently removes anything that's on the surface, whether that be dry skin or dirt. It isn't harsh, lasts for ages because you only need a tiny bit and it smells so good in the mornings!

Is there anything that you have to repurchase as soon as you run out?

La Roche Posay: Toleriane Ultra

Hello! As I've mentioned before, my skin at the time of a change in the weather (although it's becoming even the times in between) is a force to be reckoned with. It's dry and uncomfortable and requires a lot of TCL, particularly on my forehead. Enter Toleraine Ultra: a promising little bottle promising intense smoothing care.

Everything in this bottle is kept separate from anything outside with a twist top lock and the product inside is kept in a bag so nothing is getting in. It's secret is Neurosensine, 'an active ingredient which targets cutaneous irritation mechanisms' - whatever they are. With its soothing promise, it's ultra protective bottle, it's secret weapon and the fact it's for ultra-sensitive or allergic skin, I incorporated it into my routine very swiftly.

This product is not something which I now find essential or impossible to live without but it definitely helps. I find that my discomfort is taken away after a while, although it isn't a cure. I find application at night is the best thing as if you're out and about during the day it can be a little bit on the greasy side. If you do have dry skin all over and find your skin needs more than your daily moisturiser you could get away with mixing this in with your foundation but I don't need this hydration during the day and find it too heavy for my skin. At night this isn't a problem for me and it does help to soothe the irritation and make my skin smoother where it's become dry and scaly almost.
I can't say whether it's something I would repurchase after just under a month of use, but for the moment it seems to be working for me so I will see whether it becomes a skincare necessity. Perhaps in summer this will be too heavy and it's a winter product but I will have to get back to you all when it's warm again.

Have any of you ever tried this product? Or is there anything from La Roche Posay that you love?
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

HOT THIS WEEK: Garnier Miracle Skin Cream

Hello! Last week I went shopping and couldn't resist picking this up as I'm a big fan of light tinted moisturizers for the warmer months. I thought this would be great to even out my complexion and I could just pop concealer on the areas where there wasn't quite enough coverage. I was also intrigued by the way the formula changes colour when you apply it to your skin so I thought I would give you the low down.

I think that this product makes a great moisturizer as part of your skincare routine, a great primer and even just on it's own it looks great. The first thing I noticed after applying it to my skin was how well it blended and my skin felt so soft. I applied a bit of concealer under the eyes, around my nose and on any blemishes and, not to sound big headed, but my skin looked great. I also wore this under my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in my Outfit of the Day last week as I can find the Serum a little drying on my skin. I think it made a brilliant base as it was so hydrating and I think my make up lasted pretty well throughout the night. I might have forgotten to take my make up off (massive blogger error) but I think it stopped my skin completely freaking out like it normally does (obviously don't leave your make up on over night though, stupid mistake!)

The reason you can use this on it's own is because although it comes out of the bottle a white-cream colour, once you start to blend it into the skin it transforms. The product is a one-colour suits all and although the colour of this matches my skin colour perfectly, I'd say paler gals might have a bit of trouble. I'm about as pale as I get at the moment and I have high hopes for it suiting my bronzed up skin during the summer months.

I definitely would say this has made it into my summer staples in just a week. In the winter I prefer something a bit heavier but I think this will work really well as a light base or mixed with a tiny dab of foundation if I'm in need of more coverage. Blends seemlessly and can be applied with your fingers (although I do have to wash my hands before I can even think about picking anything up afterwards!) which makes it super easy for holidays and festivals, especially as it's got SPF 20! It sinks in super quick and doesn't make me look oily or cling to dry patches which I absolutely love. I can't really say anything bad about this product. Flawless.
